Application Development

• Industrial Validation: We partnered with key players to validate our products across five critical sectors, demonstrating their industrial viability.

• From Lab to Application Testing: Development takes leap from lab testing to application and system testing in electrodialysis, non-vanadium flow batteries and humidification systems with positive initial results.

• Production Advancements: Roll-to-roll production moved forward during pre-feasibility, generating new proprietary knowledge. In early 2025, we will commence machine testing with suppliers.

• Upcoming Collaboration: Stay tuned for an exciting announcement regarding a significant development consortium within PEM Fuel Cells and Electrolysers– details to be revealed after the New Year!

Relocation to New Facility

• In December, we successfully relocated to our new 800m² facility in Stockholm.
• This facility enables:
  - Organizational growth
  - Construction of our first production demonstration plant
  - Establishment of critical R&D capabilities

• With the increase of future production capacity, the company will have the capability to accelerate development projects and produce initial volumes whilst validating roll-to-roll production technology for future upscaling. Enabling deliveries for application engineering samples and initial production runs for major clients in sectors such as hydrogen, battery storage and liquid treatment.

Funding Success

• EIC Grant: Awarded €2.5 million from the European Innovation Council, highlighting the EU’s commitment to PFAS-free technology. Cellfion was 1 of only 42 companies selected from 1,083 applicants.
• Capital Injection: Secured SEK 30 million in Q1 2024, alongside funding from the Swedish Energy Agency.
• Looking Ahead: We are preparing for a new financing round, targeted to commence in Q2 2025.

Strategic Collaborations

• Umeå University: Industrial electrolysis test bed for advanced membrane development.
• Lund University: Validation of electrodialysis membranes within industry-relevant systems.
• AFRY Partnership: Basic plant engineering for a large-scale factory, enabling scalable production of PFAS-free membranes.
• Organic Flow Battery Project: Our cellulose-based membranes matched the performance of commercial fossil-based membranes.

A Growing Team

This year, our team expanded from 11 to 18 members, with key recruitments including:‍

• Senior Process Engineer, Finance Assistant, Polymer Scientist, Product Owner, Lab Technician, Graphic Design Intern and Business Developer.
  
  2025 Outlook:
• In January, we’ll welcome 4 master’s students and an intern from NUS Singapore to support technology development and environmental projects
