Stockholm, Sweden – 2026-09-30 – Cellfion has secured approximately €6.9 million in first-stage financing, including investment from a Japan-based global company and continued investment from existing shareholders Voima Ventures, Almi Invest GreenTech and Klimatet Invest AB."
The financing will support the establishment of Cellfion’s first membrane production facility in Sweden, marking an important step in the company’s industrial scale-up.
“This is a transformational step for Cellfion,” says Liam Hardey, CEO of Cellfion. “We now have the capital and momentum to establish our first roll-to-roll production facility in Sweden, providing the industrial capability needed to move towards commercial-scale production.”
Alongside the scale-up of its membrane business, Cellfion has identified several new business opportunities for its functionalised nanocellulose technology. These opportunities broaden the potential applications of Cellfion’s technology platform and form an important part of the company’s long-term commercial strategy.
